In this hands-on workshop, participants will learn fun and
dynamic ways to teach math, nature studies, art, and literacy skills all based
on College and Career-Ready standards for math and language arts, and the state
course of study for visual art! Classroom teachers, art teachers, and
administrators will learn how to collaborate on a unit including: kinesthetic
math games, drawings and paintings with a variety of techniques and materials,
identifying and manipulating fractions with different numerators and
denominators, using Venn diagrams, and compare and contrast writing techniques.
Workshop activities will also include Museum tours and studio activities that
enhance understanding of these standards and suggestions for guest artists that
can visit schools during the unit of study. Participants will leave with
complete lesson plans, assessment materials, and finished original artwork. Sign up on the Museum's website now
